Chicago News

I worked for a small weekly free paper this summer. It was a learning experience.

I wrote up to six stories a week, but work 10 hours a week. I really learned how to file stories under deadline. I learned that calling police multiple times leads them to comment eventually. I learned that Chicago can be a tough place to report, but there is  always a joyful story to tell. I learned how to hold yourself to higher journalistic, even if an organization doesn’t always require a comment. But most importantly, I learned how to write fast and write well.

I wrote over 160 stories while I worked at the organization, but here are a few of my favorites.
